We Build Worlds

Life Space UX product exhibition for Sony

Takram designed a creative experience for Sonys unique Life Space UX products such as 4K Ultra Short Throw Projector, Portable Ultra Short Throw Projector, and Glass Sound Speaker. The experience is set within the residence of J.H. Vincent, a fictional sci-fi author, as he is about to begin writing his latest book We Build Worlds. In his apartment, we explored how we can transform our domestic space through the creative use of audio and visual augmentation.

To best convey the concept of LSUX, unlocking the potential hidden in everyday space, we used the projectors and speakers as means to bring narratives into life. The fictional character J.H. Vincent and his apartment serve as a platform for these narratives. Embedded in his apartment, LSUX products augment his sci-fi imagination and navigate visitors into this expanded domestic space where the boundary between real and fiction is blurred.

Each exhibit highlights LSUX products unique potential to the full extent. Subtle and intricate animations exploit the high-definition nature of the 4K Projector, while Portable Projector is placed everywhere in the residence to show off its portability and ultra short throw, with one of them even revolving. Exhibits include:

Window to the other worlds

The 4K Projector creates a huge window in J.H. Vincent's living room, through which you dive into his imaginary worlds. Three different scenes from his book are illustrated in 4K CGI.

Augmented exploration

Portable Projector augments an illustration of a space explorer in an alien environment drawn in the book J.H. Vincent is currently writing.

Animating encyclopedia

Hand drawings of imaginary tools and costumes are framed on the hallway wall. Portable Projectors placed just beneath them overlay their functions, colours and textures on top.

Revolving Journey

A Portable Projector, placed on top of papers left in J.H. Vincents study, reveals details of a map of his imaginary planets while it revolves.

Imagination Overlay Mirror

The mirror at the end of hallway not only reflects yourself, but also recognises your body and overlays one of the extraterrestrial costumes onto you.

Creature Chirp

At the end of the hallway sits a fabric-covered cage. The Glass Sound Speaker plays back the sound of an alien creature from within it.
