Product Design for Interchangeable Lens Series for Mirrorless Cameras
Takram designed the interchangeable lens series for mirrorless cameras by Tamron Co., Ltd. The models “28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD｜Model A036”, “150-500mm F/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD｜Model A057”, ”70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VXD｜Model A056” and ”17-28mm F/2.8 Di III RXD｜Model A046” are four examples from this series.
To best present the compact and lightweight features, we set “minimal skin” as the design concept for the series. A lean body is formed by designing as if a thin skin was covering the internal mechanism of the lens. In addition, the gaps between the different parts are connected with smooth curves, which ensures a familiarity that lies comfortably in the holder’s hands.
