A real-time flight status visualization of the H3 rocket

Takram designed and developed H3 Flight Status Indication System for Public (H3 FIP), a real-time visualization system that tracks the flight status of the H3 Launch Vehicle. The system was installed at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's (JAXA) Tanegashima Space Center and was used for the live coverage of the countdown and launch of the rocket.

Visualization of the H3 Rocket Flight Status

The H3 Launch Vehicle is Japan's new flagship rocket, planned and developed to become a successor to the H-IIA Launch Vehicle. The H3 FIP delivers high-quality flight status of the rocket during the live coverage of the launch.

This system will be installed at JAXA's Tanegashima Space Center and receive telemetry from the rocket. The H3 FIP then uses the received information to deliver real-time visualization of numerical information - such as aircraft speed and altitude, and spatial information - such as planned and actual trajectories.

The system utilizes Web technologies such as WebGL and WebSocket, and was built with TypeScript, React, Cesium, Three, and other libraries.

The dark line represents the actual trajectory, and the light line represents the planned trajectory.

The ground surface is mapped when flying below a certain altitude.

The countdown clock is presented at the top of the screen, and events such as ignition are shown on the timeline with time and location.

Orbits above a certain altitude are displayed in the Earth-Centered Inertial Coordinate System (ECI).
